The South African Reserve Bank (the Bank) seeks passionate, productive and talented graduates to join its central banking Graduate Programme.

The Graduate Programme equips successful applicants with knowledge of, and skills in, the functioning of the fast-changing and important financial sector in general and, specifically, the role of the central bank in the economy. Detailed Description

Graduates will be stationed at the Bank’s Head Office in Pretoria from mid-January to December 2017. During this period they will receive intensive work-based learning offered by the South African Reserve Bank Academy (SARB Academy). Graduates will be permanently appointed into a department within the Bank, on a 12-month probation period.  Graduates will receive a competitive salary for the duration of the programme.

Requirements

We would be delighted to hear from you if you meet the requirements to apply. These are:

1.    You are a South African citizen.

2.    You have completed an undergraduate degree or honours degree in any of the following subjects:

  • Economics;
  • Money and Banking;
  • Accounting;
  • Econometrics;
  • Business Statistics;
  • Mathematical Sciences;
  • Risk Management;
  • Finance;
  • Law;
  • Political Science; and
  • International Relations.

3.    You demonstrate the following behaviours:

  • drive for results;
  • analysing and problem-solving;
  • planning and organising;
  • effective communication;
  • building and maintaining relationships;
  • team work;
  • self-awareness; and
  • learning focus.
