PRODUCTION MANAGER job – Starke Ayres – Kempton Park, Gauteng | Indeed.co.za
The above position has become available for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our Production Department in Gauteng. Leading a team of production officers, this role will primarily focus on ensuring adequate production of Basic and Commercial Seed that meets with the minimum physical and genetic quality standards is produced.

- Plan local and international commercial seed productions to meet the requirements of the Production Budget and minimize financial / yield risk.
- Contribute to the construction of the annual production budget of the region.
- Develop, plan and coordinate seed production planting strategies to meet all local and international production needs.
- Ensure that all protocols for seed production is achieved whilst ensuring that the highest genetic purity is maintained.
- Identify new seed production growers and actively maintain relationships with growers in a professional and mutually beneficial manner.
- Ensure timeous and thorough field inspections are carried out on Commercial Seed productions and regularly accompany production officers during field visits.
- Compile and submit monthly production reports.
Minimum requirements:

- BTech Agriculture / Horticulture (BSc-degree an added advantage).
- Minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience in seed production activities, including genetic purity management techniques in hybrid seed production.
- Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Excel – Advanced Level).
- Strong relationship management and organizational skills (including the demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously).
- This position requires local (regularly) and international (occasional) travel.
