A 6 month Internship has become available to join our team.
The focus of work will be to assist in organisational, administrative and technical aspects of the ESA regional programme with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people and comprehensive sexuality education in the context of the ESA Initiative, and particularly in the country cluster of the regional programme.
The intern will conduct literature, guidelines and manual research and reviews, analyse strategies and policies, draft summaries and provide inputs and support to ongoing measures in the country cluster of the ESA regional programme. The intern may also assist other areas of the GIZ ESA regional programme as need arises.
Specific duties include the following:
Support the component manager / the technical advisors in their respective work streams;
Support the implementation of activities in the above mentioned work streams;
Assist in the planning and preparation of conferences, meetings and workshops;
Assist in the preparation and documentation of workshops or trainings;
Assist in the development of Terms of Reference (ToR), concept notes and budgets;
Assist in the development of project presentations, project descriptions and reports;
Provide support to the programme’s knowledge and information management;
Support the maintenance of the programme’s Document Management System (DMS);
Conduct background research on aspects linked to the cooperation with the partner organisation;
Take minutes of team meetings;
Provide assistance in a variety of logistical and administrative tasks;
Prepare a final report on the internship towards the end of the assignment.
Minimum required qualifications, competences and experience
Graduate degree, Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Sociology, specialisation in Health and HIV/AIDS and would be advantages or any other relevant field;
Excellent writing and communication skills;
Proven administrative, organisational and management skills;
Fluency in English;
The ability to work independently, to plan and organise your own work programme;
Good inter-personal skills as well as the ability to work harmoniously with people of different cultural backgrounds;
A proactive approach towards people and the work of the ESA Regional Programme would be advantages;
Excellent IT skills (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online research);
Performance-oriented, eager to learn, keen perception and solid analytical skills;
Health and Education disposition and mind set.
