This position is responsible to assist in the maintenance and enhancement of the organisation’s human resources through planning, implementation and evaluation of employment relations matters, policies, programs and practices, the provision of expert technical knowledge, support and guidance to Management of the Business Units in line with Human Resource best practice and Labour Legislation.
The Human Resources Department and we are looking for a diplomatic, mature individual, who is able to interact with employees at all levels and handle diversity issues appropriately. This position also requires someone with excellent communication, business writing and interpersonal skills and who can maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Attend business unit management meetings with the intent of alignment and pro-active challenge detection of employment related challenges
- Provide technical employee relation advice to the business units (management of employees) in regards to discipline, hearings and grievances
- Assist with:
– Implementation of HR Strategy in line with the business strategy
– Implementation and communication of company policies and procedures when changes occur.
– Maintenance of employee data
– Updating of job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
– Job evaluations and salary benchmarks.
– Planning, Implementation, monitoring of the performance management system
– Career path planning and career development strategy
– Implementation of legal compliance and represent the company at the CCMA for conciliation and arbitration.
– Planning and direction in wage negotiations. - Conduct exit interviews, analyse the data, track trends and make the necessary recommendations for improvement
- Generate relevant management reports
- Supply payroll input to pay office
Your experiences and skills
- 8 – 10 Years’ experience as a generalist in a HR environment
- Good knowledge of Labour Legislation
- A wide knowledge of remuneration principles and practices job grading systems
- Sound knowledge of recruitment and general HR practices
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word Outlook
Qualifications
- BTech / Bachelor’s degree majoring in HR or Industrial Psychology is essential and compulsory
