Position : Fundraiser Role

An exciting opportunity with our Client has become available for a Fundraiser position for a charity Organization they are working with!
They are looking for an individual who can think Out of the Box, as well as has great writing ability to put together grants proposals and requests. An individual who is eager and passionate.
FUNCTION
This position oversees resource development and fundraising with a primary concern for building partners, maintaining existing relationships, donors, and in-kind support for the organization. The individual must work closely with Club staff and board eadership, in conjunction with the Chairman, present plans to the board, and various groups. Directly manages partner portfolio and prospects from discovery, cultivation, ngagement and solicitation to on-going stewardship through meetings, tours, proposals and letters. Takes on Special Projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; an advanced degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in non-profit management within a fundraising
position, including Board fundraising engagement, or the equivalent combination of
experience and education.
A track record of fundraising and special event coordination
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
Highly organised, self-reliant, good problem-solving, results-oriented, multi-tasker with superior management skills and excellent judgment;
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written,
Strong presentation skills,
Success managing a portfolio of relationships with annual goal achievement with limited supervision,
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners, Club staff, subordinates, Board Members, community groups, and other related stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITY
Overview
Develops, oversees, and assures the success of fundraising plans towards reaching financial goals of the organization.
Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits, closes, stewards, and renews commitments building strong partnerships.
Raise 2M Rand per annum minimum in year 1, with an increasing target over time
Donor Relations
Develops, oversees, and assures partner organizations
Board Governance
Coordinates and manages Board Meetings quarterly including liaising with Board for date,
notification, agenda, board packs, and all other logistics involved with the set up
Drives Board involvement in fundraising and meets with Board Members monthly to prospect
with them individually, and to engage them in the fundraising target
Marketing/Communication
Drives internal and external marketing for the organization with the goal of securing individual
donors for BGCSA and establishing brand awareness in South Africa
Volunteer Management/ Employee Engagement
Coordinates volunteer days, visits, and programs as part of making more individuals aware of
our organization
Coordinate for volunteers and their involvement in Club events (as judges, guest speakers, or
mentors) as a way of increasing awareness and engagement between stakeholders and
BGCSA
Special Events
Plans and executes 2 special events annually to raise funds for BGCSA
Hosts monthly Club visits
Grant Research Proposals
Research potential grant applications and prepare proposals consistent with funding
organization’s priorities
Prioritize proposals and submit monthly applications for funding
Manage the Grant calendar to ensure deadlines are met
Partnership Development
Develop partnerships with NGOs and other community organization to decrease the overall
operating expenditure of the organization
Develop relationships with corporates and tertiary institutions to provide our Club Members
with benefits for their post matric plans
External Relations
Represent BGCSA through service Clubs, attend events, and find opportunities for new
networks to be established
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
May be assigned leadership and operational responsibilities periodically by the Board of Directors.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain contact with Board of Directors, Club staff, volunteers and Club Members
External: Maintain contact with relevant government offices and officials, potential and current donors, external / local community groups, and others as required.
