Role Purpose:
This person will be responsible for the sales of Edwards Lifesciences Critical Care products in the Cape Town region. The main purpose is to manage and develop relationships with customers and to evolve Edwards’s sales network in the area of responsibility. To achieve the sales and profit objectives, participate in the formulation and execute sales plans through direct selling, workshops and training seminars.
Major Job Functions:
- Perform with an objective to achieve territory action plans and reach sales and profit targets as defined in the annual sales plan in the specified region.
- Regular visits to customers; build and manage customer relations.
- Ensure that customers are provided with adequate technical, product and in-service support, train customers on product use and ensure after sales service by a continued follow with of the customers.
- Quotations, pricing and when necessary collections.
- Conduct market research – continuously monitor market data, competitors and changes in market trends, and regularly report to Sales Manager.
- Support commercialization and product launch with customers.
- Coordinate the organization of Edwards participation to local seminars, medical exhibitions and trainings.
- Collaborate with sales colleagues on the effective use of selling process and tools.
Qualifications
Required Education experience:
- Senior school certificate
- Certified Sales Training
- Degree or diploma in Medical Field (advantage)
- Degree or diploma in Sales Marketing (advantage)
- 4-6 years’ sales experience
- Marketing experience (advantage)
Required Skills:
- Presentation skills with high level ability to train people
- Good Level of clinical skills preferably medically trained, or good general understanding and knowledge of natural sciences, biology and medicine.
- High level of commercial skills, selling skills and business acumen, successful experience in sales, account management and negotiation is required
- Experience in intensive care is required, with the knowledge of the ICU and operating room environment, ideally interacting with intensivists and anesthesiologists.
- Conceptual selling experience and new product launch selling experience preferred
- High interpersonal and communication skills – personality acceptable to customer
- Experience with clinical training provided to hospital personnel – conducting training programs to both physician and support staff is a strong advantage
- Excellent planning and organization skills
- Flexible to able to adapt easily to different customers and different business strategies
- Passion and strong motivation
- Strong business ethics and personal integrity is a must
- Full clean drivers license
- Computer literacy: use of Microsoft office packages
- Ability to travel extensively – field based position (more than 80%)
