Position: Divisional Chief Operating Officer- EQUIP
Location: Centurion-Gauteng
Reporting to: Chief of Party – EQUIP
About the role: EQUIP is a USAID funded programme made up of a consortium of organisations, namely: Right to Care, Anova Health, Kheth’Impilo, MaTCH and Partners in Hope. These African organisations have come together, under EQUIP to implement activities with USAID to facilitate the scaling up of innovative approaches to ART service delivery. This position will provide coordination and organisational support to this initiative and will require travel to various EQUIP supported countries. Right to Care is the Prime Recipient of the USAID Grant supporting the EQUIP Consortium. The successful incumbent will need to formulate policies and give direction to implementation of strategies whilst ensuring fiscal and grants management of EQUIP. The successful incumbent will also be responsible for communication and relationship management amongst all the consortium partners, US Missions, Ministries of Health and local implementing partners in the various participating countries.
Qualifications and Experience:
A recognized degree in business / health program management (ie. MPH), business administration or related field.
A MBA degree, Masters in Administration or equivalent is desirable
10 years’ experience in an executive or senior leadership and strategic management role.
15 years’ experience in senior management of finances, strategic implementation, operations, project oversight and program implementation is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate and motivate staff to create organisational synergies through change management.
Lead in accordance with the company’s values and mission
Demonstrate innovative discipline to create and incubate ideas for strategic innovation and growth.
Must be willing to travel as and when required
Key Performance Areas amongst others include:
Understand and align the organisation with the future strategies within donor organisations, government and private sectors.
Provide guidance in determining the strategic vision, mission and long term objectives of the EQUIP.
Draw and approve staff establishment budgets according to EQUIP staffing needs.’
Guide the development and approval of EQUIP policies, procedures and standards.
Refine strategies for human capital management and organisational effectiveness, by means of team development, performance management, change management and organisational culture
Advice existing board committees and provide guidance.
Conduct performance development reviews for all direct subordinates.
Ensure strong systems that support the organisation in financial management, IT infrastructure, Human Capital and communications.
Identify and develop approaches to reduce risk to the organisation and ensure that there is sufficient financial resources to meet organisational commitments.
Participate and represent EQUIP in international and national meetings.
Respond to media where necessary.
Build the image and brand of EQUIP through communication and corporate identity strategies
Oversee the development of marketing materials.
Contribute to the RTC Annual report as required.
Cultivate discipline within the organisation that identifies, creates and brings to scale, innovative solutions within health.
Develop and maintain high-level relationships with prospective and existing donors.
Build a strong relationship with the various government departments at the various countries at a senior level to ensure strategic alignment with their programmes.
Champion technical relationships with private sector for partnership opportunities.
