ROLE PURPOSE
An exciting opportunity exists for a committed, self-motivated and results driven individual to take up the challenge in Workplace Wellness, Managed Care and Occupational Health Management. The incumbent will report directly to the unit manager and indirectly to other program managers in the division (ad-hoc) based on projects in the pipeline. Supervise subordinates, outreach team leaders and affiliate networks including enhancement and management of a cost-effective wellness program outcome with the objective of promoting utilisation during service provision.
The successful candidate will be based 60% of the time between Braamfontein and Pretoria and 40% travelling nationally.
THE WORK YOU NEED TO DELIVER
- Promotion of workplace wellness program
- Health risk assessment
- Medical Surveillance programme( physical examination, Audiogram, Spirometry, Chest X-rays, Eye testing, Vaccinations, Chlamydial surveillance)
- Prevention of occupational injuries and diseases
- OREP( Occupational Risk Exposure Profile)
- Walkthrough Inspections
- Vaccinations( anti- rabies, flu, tetanus, hepatitis BC)
- Reasonable accommodation/ Ill health placement,
- Oversee and manage the administrative and operational activities of occupational health services
- Assure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations
- Responsible for securing and developing records, equipment, and programs related to occupational health services
- Collaborate with outside resources for program development, such as product clients, healthcare providers, third party administrators
- Responsible for assuring the appropriate access and utilization of health care services
- Evaluate and treat all injuries and illness in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines
- Develop referral guidelines to outside health care providers and services
- Manage all cases to facilitate productivity, assuring appropriate care and return to work
- Assess client health care needs
- Implement and manage health care programs to improve health and facilitate return to work, maintain OHS records/reports and worker medical files.
- Assist departments with identifying, evaluating, and implementing accommodations and return to work options for workers with restricted duty.
- Contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment.
- Identify primary, secondary and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health of the population.
- Training and development of Occupational/ PHC nurse clinicians, Health and Safety representatives
- Coordinate training of first aid team members

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH
- Clinical Nursing Diploma i.e. Primary Health Care, Occupational Health
- Valid dispensing license
- HIV counselling certificates
- Experience in Case Management
- Experience and background of coordinating wellness event
- Valid registration with SANC and OHASA
