NEMISA (National Electronic Media Institution of South Africa)
NEMISA is an institution of education and learning, specializing in teaching the production and technical skills applicable to TV, radio and broadcasting industries. NEMISA is one of the State Owned Entities (SOEs) under the auspices of the Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services (MoTPS). It is listed as a Schedule 3(A) entity in terms of the Public finance Management Act, 1999. As mandated NEMISA provides much needed skills training at an advanced level for the broadcasting industry through diploma courses, short courses and internships in: TV production, radio production and creative multimedia.
Purpose of the Job:
The lecturer will plan, prepare and conduct both facilitation and assessment of learners with the objective of developing competence and certification for qualification FET 61450 and National Certificate 58394.The Lecturer will play an active role in the development of TV Skills for Camera Operation; Studio Control; Vision Mixing; Video Editing and Production.
Job Description: Implement facilitation and assessment timelines for the production skills in camera and video editing for qualifications (SAQA 58394 SAQA 61450). Conduct formative; summative assessment and POE evaluation activities – ensuring that facilitation and assessment is moderated and achieved. Participate in research, lesson design and curriculum development pertaining to unit standards in the above qualifications (SAQA 58394 SAQA 61450). Maintain, manage and administer learner records and results – Programme Files and Data Base. Monitor Learner progress; provide academic and learner support – ensure and achieve workplace readiness. Maintain professional development in the industry through affiliations; practical work; presentations and conferencing.
Minimum Job Requirements ( Qualification Experience)
The candidate must be a subject Expertise of Technical Studio Facilitator. He/She must be competent in the use of:
Camera, Lighting Operations and Controls. Use of Camera Equipment Use of lighting equipment in studio and on location Vision control in the studio
Editing, Vision Mixing Sound Editing using non-linera editing systems. Vision mixing for live and pre-live recorded programmes Recording sound and Mix Down. Use of recording equipment.
Qualifications Required:
Essential Criteria for Selection: Minimum Qualification: Level 6 Film Television Diploma or Degree. Atleast 3-5 years in the industry as a Technical or Studio Studio or similar role. Ability and Experience to teach practical skills in multiple disciplines of Film Television. Proven knowledge of the Film Television sector would be an advantage. The company offers a competitive CTC
