Key Performance Outputs

The successful person will be reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and will be responsible to:

  • Ensure a formal set of processes and controls are in place by which ACSA IT can efficiently and effectively manage day-to-day operations of the Enterprise Applications.
  • Ensure the general health (stability, integrity, performance, security and availability) of application services.
  • Develop and maintain application architectures (functional/information architecture and entity relationships).
  • Responsible for the identification and assessment of all application architecture issues and challenges across ACSA and provide analysis and recommendations to remediate issues or identify opportunities for improvement to overall application strategy.
  • Ensure application blueprint is aligned to IT roadmap and updated as part of an ongoing review cycle.
  • Build and maintain all application and technology roadmaps, provide strategic architectural leadership to the ACSA€™s implementation team.
  • Establish an enterprise application lifecycle management capability €“ including establishing and improving current processes across all segments.
  • Ensure effective policies, processes, procedures and control mechanisms are in place to; and
  • Provide Management Information / Reports to the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Officer and Business where necessary on the status of Airport Systems and relevant information.

Technical Skills and Experience:
The following skills and experience will be required:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification , preferably a Bachelor€™s Degree from an accredited university supported by relevant experience;
  • In-depth technical and project management expertise combined with excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills;
  • Clear understanding and use best practices methodologies for developing and managing enterprise applications;
  • 9 years of management experience, 5 of which should be at senior management level; and
  • Working Knowledge of the Aviation / Transport and/or Airports industries as well as Technology Trends and an appreciation of the dynamics of the public sector.

Competencies:
The successful incumbent will be able to communicate clearly and professionally in multiple formats, exercises good judgement when making decisions and takes into account both facts and personal experience. It is essential that the candidate is well organized and methodical, and pays attention to detail; improves and re-engineer processes and sets definite milestones and actions for achieving goals. It is vital that the incumbent is aware of and can manage the dynamics of power within the organisation whilst actively building social networks.
