Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for the management of the inputs and outputs of specific projects.
Knowledge Experience:
Essential
Tertiary education, preferably a degree (B.Com, Business Administration, Project Management or equivalent)
Working knowledge of Word and Excel
Must have at least 3-5 years working experience
Must have a working knowledge of the research process and marketing research
Must have proven record of work experience in deadline driven pressurized environment
Desirable
Client management experience and ability to manage both internal and external client expectations
Responsibilities:
Responsible for taking accurate briefs from Client Services team
Liaise with Suppliers (cost, timings, etc.)
Receipt, collation timeous processing of supplier invoices/purchase orders
Communicates brief, timings, deadlines and all relevant project issues to all relevant parties
Monitors and keeps record of all project costs and budgets (thus being able to respond to any over-budget queries with confidence, detail and accuracy)
Checks, reconciles and signs off costs Supplier Invoices
Ensures project details and timings are accurately communicated to various departments (working with
Project Administrator)
Manages and evaluates project progress from inception through to conclusion
Monitors timing schedules and assumes full responsibility for ensuring that deadlines are being adhered to by all departments
Takes responsibility for the quality (and quality delivery) of a project
Reviews samples allocated to Field Managers (for accuracy)
Understands all sampling approaches used in the company and their implications for project design and
implementation
Checks that all handbooks have been correctly compiled and dispatched to the correct parties and departments
Ensures that questionnaires have been checked by all relevant departments
Responsible for reviewing the questionnaire from a logistical point of view
Ensures all data (such as row tabs, tables, and score cards) are delivered on time to CS
Communicates project changes and progress to relevant parties
Ensure final lock-down questionnaire sent to Scripting/Scripter on time
At all times responsible for managing timeline adherence of all projects within their remit
Trains, coaches, manages and mentors Project Administrator(s)
Provides support to exec teams in terms of project and logistic implications of different design approaches in order for them to propose a solution to Clients that is reasonable and achievable
Experienced in ‘getting a job through the system’ and can manage projects through all stages of the project lifecycle and coach PM team members to further develop skills and knowledge
A positive role model who demonstrates a positive, can-do approach and is able to create a high performance culture on their account/project (holding line reports accountable for accuracy/quality of deliveries)
Coaches and manages more junior team members and ensures that they deliver on their projects the quality and timeliness expected
Continual upskilling and training on product/specialist skills area in order to provide consultative role to all departments
