Applications are invited for the abovementioned position in our Risk Control Department based at Wadeville Distribution. The successful candidate will report to the Services Manager.
Purpose of the Position:
The purpose is to provide practical work experience to a student who are in their last year of study and require In-Service Training in order to obtain their qualification, and/or those recently graduated but unemployed who require exposure in a work environment. Successful interns will be expected to enter into a 12 month contract commencing 01 February 2017 and terminating 31 January 2018.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring DC’s comply with OHSACT and Risk Control Requirements
Ensure adherence to the Risk Control / Policies, Procedures and implementation of Audit recommendations
Perform Risk Control and Safety Training needs analyses and co-ordinate appropriate training
Train people on relevant Risk issues
Perform Administrative functions
Must be able to compile and manage a regional risk/maintenance budget
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
Matric
Excellent academic results and in final year of obtaining tertiary qualification, degree/diploma
Excellent organizing abilities
The ability to set and meet deadlines
Good communication skills at all levels
A highly committed approach
Sound understanding of the OHSACT and related legislation
Must be willing to travel extensively within the region
Must have knowledge of maintenance programmes
Computer literate in all MS Office applications
Have good financial and business acumen
