Store Manager – MPC Recruitment – Century City

1. Budget Expense Management

a) Achieve monthly gross profit turnover targets

b) Prepare submit turnover expense budgets

c) Prepare annual salary budgets

d) Control maintain operational expense budgets versus actual turnover

e) Maintain controllable expenses in proportionate ratio to sales within agreed budget level

f) Ensure that salary costs are maintained at the expected percentage to sales ratio

2. Merchandise Stock Management

a) Ensure the store is holding the full range of Store applicable merchandise

b) Ensure merchandise is displayed according to proportionate sales of promotional activities

c) Ensure departments are merchandised as per the merchandise standards

d) Liaise with Merchandise Division with regards to stocks, pricing, standards layouts product performance

e) Ensure stockholding levels are in line with merchandising plans with sales performance

f) Check merchandise movement to highlight slow sellers/good performers

g) Ensure the efficient selection of stock ranges as per local market trends

h) Manage the discontinuation suspension of stock as per business requirements

3. Shrinkage Management

a) Ensure daily counts audits take place are authorized by management

b) Ensure all High Risk stock Top 10 shrinkage departments are checked on receipt by management

c) Ensure the “safe” merchandising of certain products

d) Ensure that weekly departmental self-audits are accurately completed

e) Ensure training is be given on all procedures, as well as follow-up training in problematic areas for team members security staff

f) Ensure spot checks on top 10 shrinkage item sales by security guards is conducted

g) Ensure 100% accuracy when completing registers maintain a high level of search quality at the facility point

4. Sales Promotions

a) Ensure that the store is geared to implement promotions effectively

b) Arrange promotions with suppliers

c) Oversee promotional signage from suppliers for display purposes

d) Set adjust selling prices for locally organized promotions in response to competitor pricing

e) Ensure that the weekly promotional leaflets are executed

5. Customer Service

a) Ensure staff members are fully trained competent in customer service product knowledge so as to project a competent, efficient customer orientated image

b) Ensure that customer complaints after sales service are handled courteously, promptly to the customer’s satisfaction in line with Company policy

6. Registrations /Policies / Procedures

a) Ensure that all Company policies are adhered to

b) Ensure that working conditions are in line with Company policy, Wage Determination Basic Conditions of Employment, Equity Bill LRA

c) Ensure that team members are accorded fair treatment in line with Company policy

d) Know adhere to the Industrial Relations policies to ensure that fair disciplinary hearings grievance hearing take place

7. Team Management

a) Promote a high level of moral team sprit

b) Select, train motivate team in order to achieve the required standards in all areas

c) Ensure that conditions of service are explained to team members implemented

d) Obtain approval for the recruitment of additional team members

e) Discuss the dismissal of any team member with HR

f) Manage a store appointed HR Manager

8. Security

a) Ensure that all security systems are implemented efficiently maintained

b) Ensure that all team members are aware of trained in their security responsibilities

c) Control manage the Occupational, Health Safety Regulations

d) Ensure that all team members are aware of the importance of shrinkage control

e) Liaise with the external security company and alarm companies to ensure that a high level of security is maintained in the store

f) Ensure receiving clerk security officer do independent checks with regular spot checks by management

9. Training

a) Ensure the provision of team training, if necessary with outside suppliers, in order to achieve maximum productivity within the store to ensure the development of team

b) Liaise with Human Resources officers regarding all in-house training

c) Ensure a succession plan is in place in the store

d) Ensure that the relevant line managers are initiating maintaining training

e) Identify training development needs ensuring execution by utilizing line managers the Regional HR Manager for the region

10. General

a) Have knowledge of legislation that is applicable in the retail industry in the specific country

b) Maintain uphold ethics within the store

c) Update dashboard daily

d) Keep up to date with new systems procedures which affect the retail industry

e) Undertake special projects as requested by the Store Operations Director

11. Supplier Relationship Management

a) Maintain good relationships with suppliers

b) Ensure the timely payment of supplier (cheques, cash original documentation archived)

12. Negotiations

a) Negotiate, along with the HR Manager, wages with Unions

b) Negotiate with clearing agents customs

c) Negotiate with suppliers to ensure efficient operations (promotions, stock, logistics, supply)

13. Logistics Supply Chain Management

a) Manage the coordination of stock as per receipt from sea air cargo

b) Ensure that item requests are placed timeously to prevent out of stocks

c) Ensure that the receiving process flow has been executed within the agreed turn around period

d) Ensure that the warehouse locator system is maintained to ensure that stock is readily available

e) Monitor outstanding supplier orders via daily audit reports

f) Monitor maintain “Days Forward Cover” (DFC) as per company budget

14. Compliance

a) Liaise with Government tax regulators inspectors from various Ministries

b) Manage the archiving of all statutory documents, import export documents

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications Experience required for this position
