Marketing Coordinator: Corporate – Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSiBA)

Accountable to: Marketing Manager

Working with: Marketing Team

Job Grade:

Main purpose of Support the development of the TSiBA
this role: Brand to assist awareness, promote

fundraising potential and sustainability
initiatives

Key Performance Areas/ Responsibilities:

CORE
KPA 1. Communication: External and Internal (30%)

 Creation (where applicable) of sufficient and adequate marketing materials including
brochures, banners, presentations, etc and ensuring that staff, students and
stakeholders have these available

 Managing the internal and external communication with Donors/Friends/Volunteers in
the form of newsletters, events, bulk mailers, etc

 Liaising with designers, printers for artwork and stock and project managing
deadlines

 Assist Marketing Manager with publicity: sourcing content, writing and disseminating
press releases, etc

 Ongoing recording and archiving for marketing purposes: photographs, events,
anecdotes, media news-clippings/media monitoring

 Presenting brand to staff, students, stakeholders for the purposes of awareness
KPA 2: Event Management (25%)

 Manage and/ or coordinate all internal and external TSiBA events:
– Event conceptualization – generating concepts, ideas, for specific events
– Planning and organizing programmes, liaising with suppliers, internal clients,
project teams, etc
– Managing and allocating resources
– Generate online and offline publicity pieces to effectively market event and brand

 Management of third party events to ensure brand recognition and credibility

KPA 3: Website/ Social Media (15%)

 Assist Marketing Manager with social media content strategy
 Implement social media strategy with the aim of driving use of platforms including:

website, blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc

 Keep social marketing mediums up to date by curating, sourcing and writing content
 Assist with website and CMS
 Ongoing development with service providers

KPA 4: Contacts and Relationships (10%)

 Building and maintaining relationships with media

 Ensure that all staff are trained and understand the importance of CRM tools and use
TSiBA’s tools/ database effectively and ensure that TSiBA’s contacts are relevant
Responding to and coordinating queries to info@tsiba.ac.za

 Conducting tours for visitors and interns
 Work with Careers Manager to keep TSiBA’s relationship to maintain a strong and

active bond with Alumni

 Assisting other TSiBA departments, campuses and international entities with
marketing needs

KPA 5: Brand Building (20%)

 Ensure that Corporate Identity is managed and are adhered to, and Brand Guidelines
is updated, particularly with regard to other campuses

 Brand monitoring – tracking of trends, managing response to brand
 Project Management of branded merchandise: sales strategy, stock order and control,

manufacture

Competencies Required:

 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
 Ability to multi-task and work towards strict deadlines

 Good interpersonal skills

 Ability to engage comfortably with both youth and corporates
 Ability to work weekends and travel to Eden campus on an ad-hoc basis

Experience and Qualifications:

 Relevant qualification in marketing/ communications/ media/ events – Minimum
diploma level

 Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience working with social media, and websites with
portfolio references to support

 Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in managing and coordinating events – from
conception to execution

 Proficiency in MS Excel/ Google Sheets at intermediate level
 Working knowledge and experience in Through the Line (TTL) marketing
 Track record of written editorials and campaigns
 Advanced proficiency in using various applications and systems eg. Bulk mailers,

databases, CMS

 Working knowledge and experience in HTML and InDesign (or similar) advantageous
 Driver’s License preferably with own vehicle
