Infield area manager in the financial services environment required in the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape. The position will be based in Mthatha, Kokstad, Port Elizabeth, Queenstown, Kimberley George, Atlantis, Mitchells Plain and surrounds as well as Paarl, Belville and Ottery.

Your amazing experience in the financial services/retail/customer service industry combined with your ability to lead, motivate and inspire a frontline workforce to achieve excellence in customer service and to ensure infield operations and ability to deliver effectively and efficiently will be your key to participate in this recruitment drive.

In the context of launching a new bank within South Africa, the infield area manager will thrive on change and be passionate about providing customers with access to this client’s new service.

People leadership:

  • Building and creating a team culture that is supportive and fosters collaboration and development of team members, as well as service excellence
  • Sourcing, selecting, bridging (where applicable), training and onboarding talented new team members
  • Effective leadership of teams to ensure motivation, engagement and retention
  • Implementation of regular communication rituals with teams to support engagement
  • Performance coaching and development of team members against key performance indicators
  • Conducting store visits to monitor and assess the quality of customer service
  • Coaching teams for effective daily operations and for individual continued learning and development
  • Training team members on new products and processes
  • Supporting the implementation of new campaigns
  • Effective management of the learnership programme for kiosk operators, including performing accredited on-the-job assessments and conducting remediation work with learners
  • Participating in training and development to continuously improve your leadership and management capability

Operational management:

  • Ensure the professional presentation of all infield employees as per agreed standards
  • Oversee the administrative operations of the infield team including leave, time and attendance
  • Manage monthly reporting
  • Ensure that regular team is held either telephonically of face-to-face to ensure best practices are shared amongst various infield operations teams
  • Maintain a strong relationship with store managers to effectively resolve issues
  • Ensure stores are equipped with the necessary marketing collateral and other supply management
  • Resolve technical issues related to the kiosks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve other issues infield as they arise
  • Future onboarding of independent retail merchants
  • Other infield activities as required, e.g.: face-to-face research interviews and area research

Skills and experience:

Your qualifications:

  • A passion for our vision of financial inclusion, ensuring financial services are accessible and affordable for all
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a frontline leadership role within the retail, banking or service industries
  • Strong leadership skills, including an ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team who will be remote in stores in various locations
  • Strong experience in the operational management of a team, including proven experience in coaching, developing people to meet their potential as well addressing poor performance and managing misconduct
  • A genuine interest and flair for developments in technology
  • Passionate about people with the ability to interact and influence all types of individuals
  • Operational and business management skills
  • Proven ability to build quality relationships with a range of colleagues, suppliers and customers
  • Ability to thrive in a changing environment and an ability to lead collaboratively through change
  • Analytical ability
  • Strives for continual learning and development of self and others and brings a passion for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Financial management skills

Requirements for this position:

  • Matric qualification
  • Post matric qualification advantageous
  • Clear credit history and criminal record
