Description:
To provide oversight and support for implementation of the CaSIPO project in South Africa, focusing particularly on coordination and integration between the staff and activities of FHI 360 as sub-partner and HPCA as prime partner.

Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Serve as FHI 360’s primary point of contact for communication and coordination with HPCA and other stakeholders.
  • Provide programmatic support and administrative oversight to the CaSIPO project staff as needed.
  • Ensure timely completion of project activities and deliverables as per approved work plan.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the development and submission of key program deliverables, including the annual work plan, two-year strategy, quarterly, semi-annual report and annual report, and any other reports as required.
  • Coordinate the availability of FHI 360’s technical assistance pool to support CaSIPO project plans and activities.
  • Refine, implement and regularly update program management and tracking tools, e.g. quarterly report templates, partner dashboards.
  • Attend Program meetings as required.
  • Work in collaboration with Finance team to provide HPCA with regular support and guidance to ensure that the Project is complying with the US Government Rules and Regulations and all terms and conditions of the award.
  • Ensure co-ordination of trainings and technical assistance support for FHI 360 staff.
  • Provide guidance on start-up and close-out issues related to field office operations.
  • Contribute to addressing a broad range of programmatic, contractual and administrative issues in collaboration with HPCA.
  • Prepare progress review meeting presentations and supporting documentation and participate in progress review meetings
  • Ensure timely program follow up on action items from progress review meetings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and agreed upon.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the South African public health sector broadly and the area of HIV care and support specifically.
  • Capacity in program planning, management and reporting.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work with minimal supervision.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including editing skills.
  • Relationship building and problem solving skills.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and ethical considerations with regard to care and support services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BS/BA in public health or related field and 5-7 years’ experience in the public health sector,

or

MS/MA in public health or related field and 3-5 years’ experience in the public health sector.

SUPERVISORY AND BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY:
Direct supervisor to the Program Officer.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Usual office working conditions. Ability to travel locally at least 25%.
