Job Description: Head Chef
Salary: R12 000
Working Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 8-pm
Start date: Immediately
Location: Stellenbosch
Purpose: The purpose of this position is to manage the restaurant’s kitchen in such a way that clients are encouraged to return because of the superior hospitality service they have received
Reporting line: This position reports to the Head of Marketing and Sales
Duties and responsibilities:
Prepare and serve lunch for clients
Catering for functions
Control kitchen stock and orders
Ensure that high standards of hygiene are maintained in the kitchen
Line management of two assistants
Prepare and manage kitchen budget
Prepare salary input for kitchen staff
Develop menus for kitchen, functions and conferences
Liaise with tasting room regarding the operations in the kitchen (e.g. delay in meal preparation etc.)
Qualifications and experience:
Diploma in Culinary Arts
Previous experience in managing a restaurant kitchen
