**Key Responsibilities**
**_Strategic Alignment_**
+ Manage the on-campus implementation of the Direct Delivery strategy, tactical goals and plans
+ Collaboratively participate in the development and implementation of the strategy and tactical goals
+ Stay abreast of local trends, changes, developments and opportunities to explore emergent and future academic education opportunities that may enhance the employability of graduates
+ Collaborate with internal functions and external partners to track campus performance against strategy and plans
+ Fulfil a positive ‘brand ambassador’ role internally on the campus, within the community and with external stakeholders and partners
_Curriculum Delivery_
+ Ensure that programmes, courses and qualifications are delivered according to the required standards such that efficacy is optimised
+ Monitor the delivery of the curriculum to ensure a consistently positive student experience and optimum efficacy; reinforce positive results and take corrective action where required
+ Implement ‘efficacy measurement scorecards’ to measure and report on the efficacy of programmes, courses and qualifications
+ Ensure academic integrity and efficacy
_Governance and Administration_
+ Ensure that on-campus governance, legislative, regulatory and administrative policy and process requirements are understood and adhered to
+ Ensure that administrative standard operating procedures, policies and processes are in place and that they are efficiently and consistently applied to the required standards
+ Monitor compliance to all health safety legislation (e.g. OCHSA), report and correct where required
+ Report overall performance against goals, financial parameters, targets, performance indicators, campus activity and other value-adding information
_Efficacy_
+ Implement efficacy plans and projects on campus in line with Direct Delivery Efficacy strategies
_Key Stakeholder Management_
+ Work collaboratively with the enabling and support functions (Operations , Finance, Technology, HR, Corporate Affairs) and peers across the Business to extract shared learning, continuous improvement, best quality, synergies and efficiencies
+ Manage resources to support the implementation and sustainable management of academic and efficacy interventions, processes and products including technology requirements, people and competence requirements, financial investment and infrastructure requirements
+ Engage with the relevant local Legislative, Government, accreditation and educational institutions to ensure academic excellence, credibility and compliance
+ Stay in touch with learners, sponsors, educators, institutions, publishers and competitors to ensure academic relevance and positive ambassadorship
_People Leadership_
+ Lead, coach and develop a team of motivated, aligned, capable and accountable people to deliver the Vision, Strategy, Tactical Plan, goals and plans
+ Provide engaging and inspirational leadership on campus so that performance and productivity is optimised
_Financial Management_
+ Manage financial indicators within agreed parameters
_Sales and Marketing_
+ Execute the marketing strategy as applicable to the campus
+ Facilitate and drive the achievement of Sales Targets
_Core competencies_
+ Good understanding of the South African Educational landscape

+ Sufficient understanding of product and services development and how efficacy can be embedded into a way of working throughout
+ Strong commercial, project management and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to quickly spot the key drivers of the results and communicate it in a concise and impactful way
+ Strategic thinking ability; i.e. able to lift out of the day to day data, combine it with external trends, market data, to see the bigger picture and help shape the future
+ Able to create simplicity out of complexity, with a strong solutions orientation
+ Collaborative approach to working with management teams, peers, colleagues and teams across the business and externally where partnerships exist
+ Stays networked internally and externally, keeping abreast of the marketplace, including trends and best practises and shares this information with the team and business
+ Able to create and manage processes that allow for an efficient and effective way of working
+ Exceptional communication and influencing skills
+ Ability to facilitate working sessions with internal and /or external stakeholders to create, collaborative, insight-led solutions and approaches to business problems and opportunities
**Experience**
+ 8 years in education and academia
+ 5 years of strong line management experience and can demonstrate collaborative leadership and exceptional communication skills
+ Has good experience in managing a commercial business unit
+ Marketing and Sales industry experience is an advantage
+ Experience in managing and motivating teams across academic structures and business and enabling areas (note: we work in a matrix structure)
+ Experience against the key responsibility areas for the role
+ Successful track record of tactical and operational implementation and commercial judgement in previous roles
+ Previous experience within a Pearson business unit at management level, as well as relevant educational experience in SA schools or a higher education institution
+ Is comfortable with networking within a local community as a ‘ brand ambassador’

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor degree is essential (such as BA, BSocSci, BSc, B.Com, Bus. Sc.)
+ Post Graduate Qualification/ Honours or Master’s Degree is an advantage
