Sales Manager – ALE

[Job Introduction]
The objective of this role can be broken into two distinct elements. The first objective is to develop new relationships and contacts (as well as maintaining existing ones) in the various sectors industries of ALE involvement in South Africa and the wider Sub-Saharan region– Wind / Renewables, Power, Oil Gas, Petrochemical, Logistics, Nuclear and civil to name but a few.

In the first instance, the goal is to provide ALE’s range of core services (SPMT, conventional, jacking, skidding, gantry lifting, barging) to generate new business in these sectors. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to introduce ALE’s leading edge innovations, technologies and developments to clients throughout the region in various geographical areas.

Combined with local establishments and branch offices, this provided the successful candidate with the ability to provide clients with the capability of executing projects in revolutionary and different ways – and in doing so saving money, saving time or reducing risk.

To be effective in this role, you will have industry background and ideally experience as an engineer at some point. Having project awareness through experience with Heavy Transportation Lifting activities is also beneficial. In addition, you will have to have the confidence to engage with new contacts and have the capability to explain how our services can bring a direct benefit to the business and projects of existing and prospective clients.

The ideal candidate will be able to solve client challenges through solutions which provide equipment and engineering skills.

Whilst a background in one of the existing functioning industries in which ALE operate would be a distinct advantage, more important is an enthusiastic and confident mind-set and self-assurance around people. A proven track record in a sales or business development role would also be advantageous.

[Main Responsibilities]

Receiving and developing new and existing enquiries into contracts

Discussing opportunities with clients and building up technical/commercial offers individually or with the Engineering team as required

Developing and expanding select key accounts whilst trying to build up new and smaller accounts

Closing deals, and final contractual negotiations

Producing commercial hand overs to allow Engineering and Project Management/Operations teams to execute major orders

Assist Operations to run typical day work projects

Maintaining contact with clients during the executional phase to ensure client satisfaction.

Work with the Accounts team to ensure on-time and full payment for services supplied.

Visit clients and their sites to discuss their project requirements

Expect up to 50% of your time to be spent visiting clients offices or client site locations.

Work with a wide range of projects from Oil and Gas, Civil, Power along with the general Transportation and Installation

of oversize cargo

Work with a range of solutions, methods and technologies

Maintain ALE’s regional majority market share in existing

[The Ideal Candidate]

This role will suit a graduate or recent graduate (max 3 years) within any of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Business Studies, Business / Marketing Development, Sales

The role is open to South African Citizens.

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, have a strong work ethic and are comfortable in social environments.

This role involves travelling to various countries as and when required.
