Superintendent – Socio Economic Development
Remuneration: Basic salary
Location: Postmasburg

The client is a leader in the iron ore industry in South African, situated approximately seven kilometres west of Postmasburg in the Northern Cape (+/-200km west from Kimberley).
The call is for an amazing individual who is passionate about socio-economic development with awesome skills set in this vertical.

Must have relationship building, results driven, lead change, business acumen, lead people, communication and report writing skills
Key performance areas, including inter alia:
Develop, review and implement SED and CSI policies, strategies and procedures
Ensure that SED/CSI department complies with all related national legislation and internal processes and procedures
Ensure that internal and external institutions such as steering committees are established
Compile project plans, including project requirements and needs for approved projects
Implement and manage approved project plan
Ensure project outcomes are delivered on time and in budget
Identify suitable technical project managers, consultants and team leaders to assist with project implementation
Facilitate service level agreements with approved contractors
Manage electronic filing system and exercise document control
Evaluate and monitor project progress against plan through regular meetings with project managers
Draft, negotiate and sign memorandums of understanding with stakeholders
Negotiate with service providers within the mandate, draft documentation and submit it to legal and general manager for approval
Establish and maintain relations with all relevant stakeholders
Participate in relevant community and development forums to ensure community needs are identified
Manage relationships with local media and press
Identify suitable SED and CSI projects by liaising with local government and beneficiaries
Conduct feasibility studies and draft business plans where necessary
Conduct market and best practice research to assist with project identification
Initiate and negotiate potential projects with local government
Compile project and departmental budgets and submit it for approval
Manage and control approved project and departmental budgets
Compile and submit regular budget reports
Ensure company tender and procurement processes are followed in line with the company policy
Monitor progress through reports from SED practitioner, establishing steering committees, site visits and stakeholder meetings
Skills and experience:
Qualifications and requirements:
Grade 12
B Degree in economics, B.A. social science, human resources or project management
Minimum of six years of socio-economic operations, community development programmes experience
Minimum of two years’ operational management
Minimum of one year of project management experience
A valid code B driving licence
