Project Director – Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS)

Strategy and Management Services, Inc. (SAMS) offers a variety of enterprise-wide, complex services and solutions to our customers. Our team provides Federal agencies and industry partners with an enterprise-wide package of services backed by experience, solid financial health and a commitment to exceed our customer’s expectations. Our core competencies are Operations Support, Information Technology Services and Facilities Management Operations Services.

Due to continued growth, SAMS is currently seeking a Project Director to provide support to a Southern Africa Mission Support contract. The Project Director will have overall management responsibility for Program Support, Administrative Support, Financial Management, Acquisition and Assistance projects and will serve as the principal liaison.

Core Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Must have an understanding and experience with large, complex projects and organizations; analyze information from multiple sources to compile a complete, holistic solution within their areas of expertise; and easily communicate those recommendations and issues to high-level commanders/executives to influence decisions that support the organization’s overall strategic plan.

Serves as principal point of representation and liaison with external constituencies on operational matters

Provides day-to-day technical/professional guidance and leadership as appropriate to the area of expertise.

Ensures all staffing goals are met, that all staff members are properly certified and that each of our programs meets all government guidelines.

Establish an overall annual program budget and then monitor each program to make sure the budget is not exceeded

Develop comprehensive progress reports on all active programs to be submitted to the executive staff each week

Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.

Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in business, management, human resources, or other relevant field

A minimum of 6 years of professional experience managing a project of similar size, scope, and complexity, specifically related to staffing, recruiting, or supporting personal service delivery programs, preferably in an overseas context

Experience working in and/or providing similar services to an international organization working overseas in a cross-cultural environment in a developing country context

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated successful ability to meet rigorous customer service standards

PMP certified

Specific knowledge of foreign/South Africa regulations and policies related to the functional area(s) is highly desirable.
