Senior Electrical Supervisor – Murray & Roberts

Murray Roberts Projects invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Electrical Supervisor for the Medupi Project reporting to the Electrical Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Medupi Power Station to be erected at the Medupi Site at Lephalale (Ellisras), Limpopo, South Africa.

• Candidate should have 15 years relevant construction (Power Station).

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following listing contains all main points of the tasks for the Medupi team. The list does not have a requirement on completeness. All tasks, which belong to the obligations of the main points, are enclosed, even if they are not detailed in the listing.

• Works closely with all the disciplines relative to the respective reporting requirements each discipline has as dictated by the Hitachi and MRP Coordination Plans.

• Responsible for assisting in establishing requirements through the Client contractors access requirement for electrical requirements

• Responsible for participating in risk and value management in regards to schedule and control;

• Responsible for monitoring contractors progress in relation to daily completion and forecast to complete.

• Responsible for assisting in the safe and timely turnover of all electrical construction requirement.

• Responsible for identifying, analysing and developing responses for commercial risks

• Responsible for analysing outcomes for change management and the appropriate follow thru to completion

• Responsible to ensure Contractor has materials in place to meet client turnover dates.

• Participate in System and Sub-system walk-downs daily on site.

• Ability to organise lead and push the completion of a job that is delayed

• Interface ability to liaise at a management level to deal with the sub contractor

• Provide the necessary report to management in order for a proper assessment of progress to be made

At all times available to support the colleagues as well as replacing or relieving the colleague during illness or leave. This includes all aspects of the project (e.g. meetings, scheduling, site power, coordination, commercial, etc.).

• Coordination of all lighting activities on site with regard to time and Quality

• Secure of the contractual Electrical released access dates / Interface to client

• Clarification of Information demand / Nominated contact person on site for Client and Subcontractors.
