Corporate Affairs Manager – South Africa – Intel

On this position the candidate:

  • will be responsible for developing and managing corporate affairs strategies and programs that promote a positive business environment and reputation for the company.
  • Establishes a long term vision and develops/drives strategic plans for their organization that comprehensively address trends, issues, and the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Develops and delivers strategic plans for the site/regional CAG (Corporate Affairs Group) organization incorporating its core programs of government affairs; women empowerment, education, innovation and employability programs; community relations and communications/media.
  • Drives proactive plans to manage complex public relations issues by identifying emerging issues that potentially have impact on Intel’s brand and reputation.
  • Understand end user business problems, and helps them solve their problems through the use and benefits of relevant Intel programs.
  • Establishes and maintains strategic and collaborative relationships with government entities, external partners, NGOs, academia and opinion leaders through a solid grasp of internal and community priorities.
  • Builds a comprehensive network of internal and external contacts – decision-makers, industry influencers, policy makers to drive awareness of relevant Intel programs and policies.
  • Represents CAG organization before key internal and external partners and audiences, positioning Intel as a thought leader.

Internally, the successful candidate will interact and collaborate with business development and marketing/PR teams within the country organization, and related program owners on the HQ side.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess below skills/experience:

  • a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Political Science or Business Administration and a strong academic record
  • Being able to understand the dynamics of ICT industry and government policy influencing with minimum experience of 3 years in those areas
  • Direct experience working within NGOs, CSOs, academia, government, think tanks and public interest groups in the field of corporate social responsibility and public policy
  • Must be able to understand technology solutions and usage models and demonstrate value to customers
  • Ability to lead strategic discussions and planning with key government accounts, NGOs, academia in South Africa
  • Experience working in high-stress environments and a proven ability to exercise judgment even in a crisis
  • Excellent communicator with great interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to write well and translate complex issues into simple language that people who are not experts can understand
  • Self-starter with the ability to think, plan, and execute large projects
  • Independent, self-motivated, strong results and customer orientation but also team player who can work with people from a broad range of backgrounds and experience
  • Project management skills required and project execution and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite, Zulu and Afrikaans will be a plus.
