Responsible for leading design teams on specific dam projects (Subject matter specialist – project manager).
Responsible and be able to execute designs related to dams: Flood and stream flow hydrology, hydraulics, construction and materials, foundation, seepage control, dam layout and instrumentation.
Manage dam and other water related projects internally and externally including management of the design and tender documentation production process for the Employer designed and EPC type of contracts.
This position will act as a bid manager and be responsible to ensure successful submission of proposals.
Dam Safety Evaluation as per the National Water Act,
Business development and liaison with clients,
Quality management.

Must be able to:

Must be proficient in English – verbal and written.
Must have excellent inter personal and management skills
Minimum Requirements
15 years’ experience in the design of dams with a safety risk,
Driver’s license,
Knowledge of:
Environmental aspects,
Relevant sections of the National Water Act of South Africa,
Hydro-mechanical dam requirements and design,
FIDIC conditions of contract
Willing to travel in Africa,
Must be able to meet deadlines (sometimes longer working hours).
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate in Civil/Agriculture engineering,
Registered at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as an Professional Engineer/or other entities as approved by ECSA.
