Job Summary
Primary Job Duties include, but is not limited to the following :
Manage the Delegations of Authority process across Africa.
Critically analyse all submissions to ensure the information that is necessary for a decision to made is included and sufficient. This includes reviewing the technical, financial, and commercial information and working with the project teams to ensure the information is correct and sufficient.
Develop and provide guidance and on-going training on the Delegations of Authority to the business.
Work on all initiatives related to the Delegations of Authority.
Coordinate and administer the meetings of the Africa Risk Committee.
Take minutes for all Africa Risk Committee meetings and ensure that all actions are attended to.
Maintain a calendar for the Africa Risk Committee meetings and ensure the meeting dates for this committee and all related committees are in the diaries of the committee members.
Liaise with people in similar roles across EMIA and within Corporate where necessary to ensure that all Delegations of Authority issues are addressed and closed out.
Develop and maintain data bases for the relevant processes and information, including approvals, rejections and conditional approvals.
Develop sample requests and guidance notes to assist the business.
Update legal databases (Serengeti, STARS ACMS, HCue)
Manage, monitor and serve as the point of contact for accounts payable to external counsels
Editing and formatting legal templates
Typing of legal correspondence
Assisting with travel arrangements for members of the Africa legal team
Assist with other Corporate initiatives and support the legal function, as and when, required.
Minimum Requirements
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
Thorough attention to detail;
Ability to meet strict deadlines;
Team player;
Strong on administration related duties; and
High level of client service
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years’ experience as a legal secretary or para-legal with experience in minute taking and company secretarial matters.
