Learning & Development Team Leader

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Identifying LD needs within the organisation through skills analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and HR departments
  • Participate in the EE and Learning Development Committees
  • Conduct company-wide skills analysis and participate in the compilation of WSP and conduct company-wide Skills analysis
  • Designing and expanding LD programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual
  • Working in a team to produce programmes that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in an organisation, such as Learnerships, Internships and Statutory related programmes
  • Considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets and assessing the return on investment
  • Developing effective induction programs
  • Conducting appraisals
  • Devising individual learning plans
  • Reviewing training materials for in-house courses and evaluating learning and development programmes
  • Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers
  • Ensuring that statutory learning requirements are met
  • Amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
  • Helping line managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
  • Researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting this research – e.g. E-learning

Key requirements include:

  • Minimum requirements: 3 Year Diploma/ Degree in Human Resources majoring in LD
  • Must be a qualifies Assessor, Moderator and Skills Development Facilitator
  • Working knowledge of Construction Seta operations
  • Minimum 4 years Supervisory / Junior Management experience preferably in the Construction Industry
  • Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office packages
  • Thorough knowledge of the Skills Development Act as well as Health Safety Act in South Africa
  • Willing to travel within SA boarders and abroad

R370K – R 520K (including Company benefits)
