About the Business Line

Program, Cost, Consultancy

We provide cost and project management services, and specialist consultancy services, to public- and private-sector clients around the world, with a strong presence in Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

Job Summary

Identify and lead key pursuits, develop successful win strategies and close the largest, most complicated and iconic projects.

Lead client relationship/business development activities through early interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on-going client maintenance interface.

Develop and lead key account strategy to achieve aggressive growth goals.

Responsible for developing market sector intelligence including industry assessment, trends in key markets and client opportunities for investment and winning work.

Work with practice leaders to develop AECOM’s competitive positioning strategy.

Provide leadership to business development and key client account managers in developing win strategies, go/no-go plans and closing sales.

Develop and manage marketing plans and budgets.

Manage the business development pipeline including generating enough leads to achieve annual wins targets and long term growth goals.

Ensure that projects are delivered within the client budget and schedule; ensure that projects are delivered with the agreed fee and the stated profit.

Interface with clients on schedules, meetings and issues (manage client expectations). Attributes, Qualities and Competencies:

Ability to develop key and trusted client relationships that can lead to new business quickly.

Demonstrated skills and track record in marketing and business development, including market strategy development, competitive assessment, market positioning and market strategy execution.

Proven strategic skills; experienced with the development and execution of business and marketing strategies.

Experience influencing and managing senior level stakeholders.

Excellent presentation and sales skills with proven ability to influence and persuade, particularly in relation to closing major project deals

Experienced and solid network in the design and planning industry

Recognized as B P industry expert who would bring added credibility at critical stages of the closing process

Expert communicator; solid verbal, written and interpersonal skills to engage and mobilize firm to embrace marketing strategy.

Effective negotiation and dispute resolution skills, analytical and decision-making.

Liaison and consultative skills applied within a context of political sensitivity and conflicting interests; includes the view of others in decisions.

Demonstrated collaborative skills, both internally and externally.

Ability to advise on complex matters to non-specialists.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 10 years of related experience including significant time in a supervisory role.

Demonstrable track record in managing the delivery of very large institutional projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
