Job Specification…

  • Presenting lectures and assessing students in Sport Management and Sport Marketing on diploma level.
  • Undertaking the supervision of postgraduate students and producing research outputs (co-publication of at least one high quality article per year in accredited journal).
  • Responsible for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning in the programme.
  • Academic development and quality assurance.
  • Industry liaison and involvement in the development of the curriculum in the programme in line with the Higher Education Qualification Framework structures.
  • Student mentorship, consultations, performance monitoring and interventions.
  • Active participation in the research activities of the programme.
  • Building links with industry, other training providers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Community engagement and service learning.
  • Involvement with supervision of Work Integrated Learning programmes.

Minimum Requirements…

  • PhD in Public Health.
  • 1 year relevant teaching and research experience at a tertiary institution or equivalent organization and/or industry based environment.

Competencies:

  • Good administration and organisation skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Technical/professional knowledge and skills in the field.
  • Strong research focus.
  • Teaching skills and commitment towards continuous learning and assessments with strong learner focus.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Proven competency and experience with sport/exercise technology.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office.

Recommendations:

  • Minimum degree in the relevant field.
  • 1 year teaching experience.
