Despatch Officer – Sasol

The purpose of the role is to coordinate all activities relating to movement control as part of the facilities management business process within Site Logistics operations. This includes liaison with the Business, Transnet Freight Rail, BU representatives, third party logistics (3PL) and services providers. Ensure equipment are operated within the OWAP principles. Align day to day shutdown and equipment outage with the value chain. Ensure adherence to next week business (NWB) as per shareholder’s requirement.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required

QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES:

Essential: Matric and 4 years experience

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE: RSE Experience will be preference

Strategy

• Implement defined strategic frameworks, policies and guidelines

Adhere to Site Services KPA’s for the Site Logistics (Shared)

Business Optimisation

• Liaise and facilitate with shareholders; rail control; Railfreight for NWB and movement of RTC’s on a daily basis

• Plan rail loading for the day with above mentioned stakeholders

• Arrange next week’s business (NWB) requirements for rail loading

• Managing of Railway Safety Regulator as per SANS 3000 standard requirements.

• Plan the shunting movements according to RTC’s product type to utilise the rail loading facility

Through measurement, benchmarking and implementation of gap closure plans (Shared)

Report on number of non conformances (Shared)

Compile Railway Safety Regulator report on a quarterly basis (Prime)

Facilitate and manage the annual permit renewal (Prime)

Rail gantry availability (Prime)

Supply Chain Intelligence

• Contribute to the design, implementation and improvement of transactional (planning and execution systems), performance measurement, data analysis

Accurate reporting (Shared)

• Ongoing Supply Chain business improvement

• Evaluate the daily rail loading plan and optimise opportunities

Benchmarks against best in class (Shared)

• Identify opportunities for debottlenecking outbound logistics facilities

Manage plant specific Task Risk Assessment process

Ensure compliance to relevant Natref/Sasol procedure, policies, legislation and business processes

Manage plant specific behaviour based safety program

Incident investigations

Ensure adherence to SHERQ legal standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001) and implement SHERQ processes for own area of responsibility

Ensure that MOC process is followed, and that modified plant/maintenance procedures are implemented by direct reports
