Research Associate Internship at Frost & Sullivan

Introduction

Frost Sullivan, a research global growth consulting firm, seeks a suitable candidate to join their team as a research intern, jointly for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) division and the Best Practices Research Division of Frost Sullivan’s Africa operations. This opportunity is based in Cape Town.



Research Interns are a key part of the research practice, gaining excellent professional experience, and opportunities to gain exposure and build their profiles across both the research and ICT environments.

The initial focus will be 8 – 12 weeks (approximate) working for the Best Practices team on the development of an Investment Index for financial houses. This index lists small to medium enterprises that are in need of financial investment, strategic partnerships or joint ventures to enable expansion. Once the index is up and running the associate will move over to the ICT team, but remain responsible for responding to queries regarding the Index. The index is of primary focus for the intern and requires attention to detail, strong administrative skills and the ability to manage a vast amount of data in an organised manner.




Key responsibilities for the Investment Index:

• Contact identified companies to add to the index, introduce them to the index and obtain buy-in
• Verify all company information from size to customer base and investment needs
• Manager the Index content quality and reliability
• Thoroughly brief the companies about the index, explaining why they should join it and what to expect
• Assist with creating marketing materials for the index


Key responsibilities for ICT:

• Assist the local ICT division to provide insight into the research conducted.
• Conduct research and write reports mainly focused on the ICT sector in Africa.
• Utilise proven primary and secondary market research methods to produce high quality and timely research deliverables (including research papers, data, industry recognition awards)

• Strong organisational skills and good work planning ethic
• Hard-working.
• Strong team player and communicator.



Requirements

• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a recognised university in a relevant field is required.
• No prior work experience is needed.
