This job requires the individual to install, maintain, repair and modify electronic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical
instruments and process control systems in a process plant environment. The emphasis is on working with local staff on diamond
concentration equipment in high security risk areas. This is an expatriate position in the United Republic of Tanzania.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Help prevent the loss of diamonds while providing technical services in high risk areas
Manage and execute CI related projects
Configure and maintain Siemens S7 PLC hardware and software as well as the WinCC SCADA System and Historian
Maintain industrial networks and instrumentation documentation (PID, loop drawings, calibration certificates)
Attend to and resolve breakdowns
Root cause analysis of failures
Establish and execute maintenance plans
Report to the Electronics Maintenance Overseer on a day to day basis
Impart knowledge and provide on the job training to local engineers and technicians
Maintain and repair Diamond sorting machinery
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma obtained through T3, S4 or N6 in the field of Electrical / Electronic Engineering Light Current / NTC 6 Diploma; OR
Relevant N4 Certificate, with a Section 13 Instrumentation Mechanician Trade Test Certificate and more than 5 years’ experience as
an Instrument Mechanician
More than 4 years relevant industrial experience in Control and Instrumentation preferably in a mine or process plant environment
In depth knowledge and experience with Siemens S7 based control systems preferably with WinCC experience (please indicate)
Code EB Driver’s License
Other Skills/Competencies:
Plant commissioning experience
Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC software, Profibus/Profinet and industrial Ethernet networks
Experience configuring Simocodes and Variable Frequency Drives
AutoCAD and/or MS Visio experience
Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
Sound process instrumentation fault finding skills
Experience with diamond sorting equipment using X-ray media separation techniques
