DNA Economics is a specialist economics and development consulting company, based in Pretoria (South Africa). As a contractor to Chemonics International Inc. we are currently looking for a Communications and Outreach Specialist to provide long term technical assistance for the USAID South Africa Low Emissions Development Program (SA-LED).
The South Africa Low Emissions Development Program (SA-LED) supports the Government of South Africa in its efforts to expand “green growth” in South Africa. The project aims to strengthen public sector-related development planning and project development capacity for low emissions projects, and increase public sector core competencies through technical assistance and learning activities to support green growth initiatives.
The Communications and Outreach Specialist will be responsible for the project’s external relations and those with USAID, including writing success stories and reporting on project activities. The specialist will provide editorial services for all communications, marketing and public awareness initiatives as needed.
Applicants must meet all of the following minimum requirements to be considered:
A Bachelor’s degree in communications or another relevant field
2-5 years of experience in developing communications material for dissemination to varied stakeholders, including the private sector, governments, donor organizations and local communities
Experience with USAID and/or other international donors preferred
Excellent written and oral English communication skills required; fluency in at least one South African language preferred
Proficient in MS Office Applications at an advanced level (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point)
South African citizenship or permanent residency
