Brand Ambassador (Ballantines) – 1 year Contract

Head of Brand Education

DEPARTMENT:
Marketing

LOCATION:
Gauteng

HOURS OF WORK:
8:00am – 5:00pm and overtime when required

DIRECT REPORTS:
None

LIAISES WITH:
Marketing, Sales

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Conducts informative and professional tasting for high-profile brands and connected customers.

1.

Raise the profile of the brand within South Africa

A.

Network

and relationship-building with target consumers

Active profile in brand targeted (brand relevant) clubs

Relationships with brand relevant writers and media

Relationships with celebrities (arts, sport etc.) who raise the profile of the brand

·

Relationships with key corporate customers

·

Relationships with connectors and trend creators, particularly from fashion, design and art fields

·

Attendance at brand events

·

Attendance at high-profile events portraying the brand-lifestyle

·

Networking leading to direct communication with target consumers

·

Marketing procedures complied with

Oversee activities at the Annual Whisky Festival

·

Sufficient stock available and present at the festival

·

High-profile and well-managed stand at the festival

·

Promotional staff present and representing the brand

Business Development

2.

Increasing sales levels for the brand

A.

Promote brand at bulk retail store

·

Seasonal attendance at bulk stores and acts as brand advisor

B.

Communicate with targeted consumers

·

Up-to-date database of prospects obtained from events attended, leads and collecting from premium clubs

·

Up-to-date database of tasting attendees

·

Consumers receiving email invitations, SMS reminders and thank-you notes

·

Minimum 40 calls per day to connectors, trend creators, early-adopters to invite to tastings

·

Minimum four brand tastings per week

·

Minimum 25 people per tastings

C.

Facilitate sales from corporate gifting (July – September)

·

Suppliers and corporates contacted to drive sales

·

Cooperation with retailers to assist their corporate gifting efforts

·

Retail corporate customers contacted

Stakeholder Relationships

Productive relationships with internal external stakeholders maintained

Coordinate with Sales

Ambassador calendars drafted in partnership with sales and marketing teams

Collaborate with retail customers

Customer’s staff receive weekly training

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Educational Requirements and Work Experience:
Tertiary qualification required: Bachelor’s degree i.e. BA; BComm; B-Tech (preferably in marketing)

Fluent in at least 3 South African Languages

Must display past leadership skills and capabilities.

Must be up to date with local and international trends.

Must have a valid driver’s licence

Functional and Technical Competencies:
