Position Purpose :
To ensure curriculum design and development support organisational competence and capacity building, collaborating with

assessment development and recertification by aligning curriculum development with unit standards and quality assurance

requirements, to develop learner centred learning material.

Position outputs :
1. Provides leadership in the design and development of curriculum in support of business, alignment with accreditation. Unit

standards, Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), and SAQA requirements.

2. Plans and priorities curriculum design requirements in accordance with long term business requirements, focusing overall

organisational competence.

3. Ensures implementation of research findings, determines how best can curriculum framework be continuously be improved

to accommodate new business requirements , competence enhancements for all learning areas

4. Provides input in TFR and HC capacity building initiatives including curriculum, procedures and processes, maintenance

5. Planning, controlling, and deploying Curriculum Specialists for design and development of learning material.

6. Manages performance and SLA’s and addresses challenges related to curriculum and learning material.

7. Implementation of learning material reviews, ensuring participation of all role players.

8. Monitoring and evaluating activities, resources, and outputs in Curriculum department.

9. Ensures accreditation requirements are met quality assurance compliance matters are addressed.

10. Collaborates with other key Stakeholder (e.g. Safety Technical and Operational Managers to determine, establish, and

manage the schedules and resource allocation to ensure targets and priorities are met within budgets for Design

Development activities.

11. Arranges and organizes resources from external providers e.g. safety consultants to ensure deliverables are on time and

fulfil the scope requirements.

12. Manage and resolve potential problems to ensure success. Provide regular status reports to the Senior Manager.

13. Manage the team of developers on individual projects and provide support where required.

14. Work with the key stakeholders in building the team expertise for the Design Development.

15. Ensure that curriculum design initiatives accommodate SAQA standards and any other internal standards to ensure

business performance

Qualifications Experience :Qualifications / Experience required:
# B Degree relevant to this field

# ETD Diploma or equivalent. Have credits for curriculum design, assessment design and moderation.

# Developed learning programmes including related assessment for 5 years
