.Develops policies, directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services by performing the following duties.

1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
- Writes directives advising Practice heads of Company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
- Consults legal team (external) to ensure that policies comply with labour laws
- Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
- Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
- Writes and delivers presentations to staff, ExCo and the Board of Directors on human resources policies and practices.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for company reporting.
- Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
- Experience in Pastel and VIP
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, and pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
- Coordinates Safety Committee meetings and acts as Safety Director.
- Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
- Prepares budget of human resources operations.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees, search firms, or relocation services.

- Manages CCMA cases in a way that is corrective and preventative
- Designs and implements employee rewards system
- Directs and Participates in the following committees:
- HR Committee

- Safety, Health, and Quality Committee
- Establishes committees as required by legislations
- Keeps an accurate record of employee data
- Implements the company disciplinary policies and procedures
- Designs and implements consultant support interventions to increase employee commitment and loyalty

2.1 Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provides management direction and counselling.
- Supervises clerical assistant and temporary staffing as needed.

2.3 Education and/or Experience
- Honors Level Degree in Human Resource,
- 10 – 20 years’ experience in Human Resource management
- Qualifications in industrial relations
2.4 Language Skills
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
2.5 Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
2.6 Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
2.7 Physical Demands
Senior HR Manager may be required to travel in all South African provinces and some markets in the continent.
