What you can expect
The incumbent will be expected to provide a strategic counsel to business leaders for interrnal communications programmes and provide strategic lead in Advocating, marketing and promoting B-BBEE to all stakeholders in the local and international markets.
Duties will include but not limited to the following:
Develop and implement a comprehensive internal/employee communications plan for Africa and develop a strategy to oversee the content ,development and preparation of all employee communications
Monitor communications/PR and crisis related activities impacting BASF in Africa
MA Africa communication and brand/marketing strategy formulation and initiatives
Ensure the communications team is appropriately set up to collaborate with BASF MA Africa business leaders
Advise and train the communications team with excellent communications/PR strategies
Lead outreach and relationship management initiatives with relevant internal and external stakeholders in close cooperation with other support functions (e.g. Sales, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, HR
Managing and monitoring interpretation and application of the B-BBEE legislation to ensure compliance with operational requirements with the regulatory body
Act as a strong business relations to the three tiers of government, state-owned entities, public entities, government agencies
Manage the preparations and submission of EEA2 and EEA4 report to the Department of Labour and the submission of annual training plan (ATR) and workplace Skills plan (WSP) to the relevant SETAs
Responsible for setting BEE annual targets and plans and communicating them to the LT, EE Committee and Unions and ensure that set targets are met and report on deviations to BEE plans
What we expect
Masters degree or equivalent academic qualification couple with 10 years experience in the management role
Experience in both external and employee communications and experience in represent Communications within the Africa leadership team, Experience managing communications for a global, matrixed organization
Experience building successful integrated communications campaigns, including traditional media relations, social media programs and marketing channels, BBBEE advocacy , Knowledge of the BEE, Codes of Good Practice, the BBBEE Act, other related legislation, company law, and any other legislation that may be pertinent to the verification and consulting process, Relations with government, state-owned entities, public entities, government agencies
