Max R476 000.00 CTC per annum

IMMOVABLE ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND PLANS

JOB PURPOSE:
To perform all aspects of varied innovative and complex survey/geometrics activities that result in progress in technology and survey applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
KEY RESULT AREAS

KEY ACTIVITIES

Land registration and Land use.

Assist to design the system and processes on how land registration will be implemented.

Administer the processes to implement zoning and re-zoning of land.

Implement processes for sub divisions, consolidation and re-consolidation of land.

Prepare regular reports to Provincial Departments in terms of progress with land registration.

Implement processes and systems to validate that land will be used for the correct purposes.

Follow up with deeds office on progress with registration.

Land Surveying.

Investigate applications on new and existing technologies.

Plan and perform surveys of a complex nature.

Development of cost effective solutions and approval of surveys according to prescribed requirements/standards.

Promote safety in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Evaluate existing technical manuals, standard drawings and procedures to incorporate new technology.

Provide professional advisory and support services

Develop tender specifications for land surveyor work if required.

Research

Study professional journals and publications to stay abreast of new developments.

Monitor and study legal frameworks, standards changes and policy frameworks.

Engage in relevant continuous professional development activities [tools and techniques] as prescribed and/or required.

Apply findings research in the work environment.

Interact with relevant Professional Bodies/Councils.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office conditions and regular travelling required.

Working hours: 40 Hours per Week.

DESIRABLE

Qualifications 4 years BSC Degree in Survey/Geometrics. Registration with PLATO as a Professional Surveyor. Valid Drivers’ Licence. Computer literate.

Experience Three Years’ experience post qualification.

Knowledge Council for Built Environment Act of 2000. National Building Standards Act of 1977 and Regulations.

PFMA/Treasury Regulations.

Provincial/Departmental Supply Chain Management Policies. Government Immovable Asset Management Act of 2007. Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013. Provincial Infrastructure Delivery Management System. National Environmental Management Act, 1998 and related Protocols and Regulations. Provincial Land Administration Act, 1998.
