About the Business Line

Infrastructure Services

We are planners, materials scientists, engineers, engagement consultants, asset managers and geotechnical specialists. Our team works to shape and influence some of our world’s most complex and challenging infrastructure. We also provide complementary services to other AECOM teams working in the sectors of Mining, Transportation, Manufacturing, Industrial and Water.

Job Summary

Responsible for the hydraulic design of dam related structures,

Peak flood calculations,

Assisting with the compilation of tenders and can also be Bid manager,

Part of teams for Dam Safety Evaluation as per the National Water Act,

Business development and liaison with clients,

Quality management. Personal attributes, qualities or competencies needed for the role:

Must be able to:
Function as part of a team and sometimes as a team leader,

Work independently and take ownership of projects,

Work under pressure.

Must be proficient in English – verbal and written.

Must have excellent inter personal and management skills

Minimum Requirements

10 years’ experience in Flood hydrology and hydraulic design,

Driver’s license,

Knowledge of:
Environmental aspects,

Relevant sections of the National Water Act of South Africa,

Hydro-mechanical dam requirements and design,

Stream flow hydrology

Willing to travel in Africa,

Must be able to meet deadlines (sometimes longer working hours).

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate in Civil/Agriculture engineering with at least an Honours degree in water engineering,

Registered at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as an Professional Engineer/or other entities as approved by ECSA.
