Since
1903, Marsh Memorial Homes has been a safe haven for children in need
of care. Originally an orphanage, Marsh now offers a loving and caring
home to 60 children of various cultures and backgrounds who have been
placed here by the courts due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. Marsh
Memorial Homes operates on a cottage system, which six self-contained
units, each housing 10 children and cared for by two childcare workers.
Marsh Memorial Homes seeks to appoint 2 Child Care Workers, based in Rondebosch, Cape Town.
This is a full-time position without accommodation on the premises.
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care to children;
- Facilitate developmental programmes;
- Facilitate recreation and educational programmes; and
- Ensure spiritual and emotional needs of the children are met.
Requirements:
- Grade 12;
- NQF Level 4 certificate in child care or
- Diploma in Child Care
- Current registration with South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Child and youth care worker;
- Three years working experience in a child and youth care centre;
- One year post-qualifying working experience in a child and youth care centre;
- Police clearance;
- Child protection register clearance;
- A valid driving licence with PDP;
